Jesse Ventura is a former professional wrestler, actor, and politician who served as the governor of Minnesota from 1999 to 2003. Born James George Janos in 1951 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Ventura began his career as a wrestler in the 1970s and later became a commentator and actor in the sport. He gained national fame in the late 1980s and early 1990s as a performer in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he adopted the persona of "Jesse 'The Body' Ventura."
In addition to his wrestling career, Ventura was also a member of the United States Navy Underwater Demolition Team (UDT), which later became the Navy SEALs. He served as a SEAL from 1970 to 1975, and was stationed in Vietnam during the war.
