List of excellent Professional Organization available to Communications Professionals


American Society for the History of Rhetoric (ASHR): A branch of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric, the ASHR was founded in 1977 in order to cultivate the study of rhetoric in multiple cultures throughout history. Membership to this organization is open to anyone, or any group, which assents with its objectives.

Association of Professional Communications Consultants (APCC): Founded in 1982 the Association of Professional Writing Consultants (APWC), this non-profit organization is devoted to the development of communications professionals who wish to enter into the business of professional communication consulting. The APCC also helps experienced communication consultants enrich their existing business.

Western States Communication Association (WSCA): The WSCA has been around for a long time, since 1929, and is a non-profit educational association with over 1,000 teachers, students, and scholars of communications all over the world. This organization produces several scholarly publications including two journals – Western Journal of Communications and Communication Reports. Membership is not free, but is open to anyone interested in the purpose of WSCA.
